Opinion: Love Triangles

I've been wanting to write about my own opinion on things for a while, so I think I'm going to start a new segment... called "Opinion". Please, someone, help me with a more creative name! :P Anyway, in any romance novel, a love triangle makes things interesting, plot-wise. So, here's my opinion on them in general. Enjoy!

Love Triangles. They're interesting, when it comes to plot lines in books and movies, though in real life, they really are a predicament. Especially if the plot goes like those in romance plots: guy likes girl, girl likes best friend, or vise versa. I have experienced something like this when I was younger, obviously in Elementary so it was extremely dramatic. Love Triangles test the strength of trust for all that are concerned.

What do I mean by that? Well, to even find out that there is a love triangle present, either someone has a lot of guts and speaks up, or someone find out from someone outside of the actual triangle. Then, friendships are tested, and it all becomes this dramatic pointing of fingers and apologies. Of course, if you're into drama, then good for you. This is the perfect way to get it. If you don't, then this is probably somewhat of a nightmare for you. So, are love triangles a bad thing? Well, it depends on how you look at them.

They're only bad if no one involved is very forgiving, nor understanding. If you've got a love triangle like that, good luck to you on figuring out your feelings after those series of fights. But, I'm sure that someone involved is going to understand what you're going through and will get why you're doing what you're doing. In this case, love triangles test how well you really get along with your friends and... love interests? I don't really know. They're really confusing. If only all love triangles could end without anyone getting hurt, that would be great.

I've gotten to thinking that my friend's saying, "Every conflict is a test of character," or something along those lines, applies to this situation as well. I mean, if you really understand one another, you'll understand why they're doing what they're doing, and you'll be more forgiving. Love Triangles also make you realize where your heart and mind lie, and whether or not they're in the right place.

So all in all, love triangles make a mess of things, but they don't have to be "bad". They can help you understand each other better, and maybe even make better friends. I'm not really sure though, I mean... I'm barely in High School. This stuff is pretty new to me.
